![]() A co-oping player is then places at the same level as the host. While I haven't extensively tested it myself, the host must send a Distress Signal to gain the aid of another player, a player seeking to co-op must search for distress signals. Simply go to the multiplayer menu, choose your settings (passwords can be set for friends to easily join each other). ![]() Finally setting up Co-op is relatively simple. ![]() Next, Co-oping does give benefits to the player, in terms of titles, items, and gifts, and perhaps even more. Interesting enough, the host can have a NPC companion and a Player to assist them at the same time, which gives a further edge for the player(s). Unfortunately anyone that responds to a distress signal will not share the progress with the host and will have to redo boss fights and the like in their "world", similar to the soulsborne franchise. And at very least in terms of the Depths (which seem to be bonus areas you can access from the home base) you each time you return to that area (leaving depths then returning) will reset even the bosses allowing you to continue co-oping in that area with a friend, whether that works in the rest of the game is unknown at this point. Luckily, unlike in the soulsborne franchise, defeating any boss will not end the co-op, again, Co-op only ends when the final boss of the area is defeated. However a single area can hold multiple bosses. Thanks to the demo, while there is some guesswork, I think we can get a solid idea of how co-op will work in Code Vein.įrom what I've played of the demo, its co-op mechanics are vert similar to Dark Souls/Bloodborne in which co-op is available until the main area boss is defeated.
